Human Resources Intern

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Human Resources Intern/Volunteer supports the day-to-day operations of Human Resources functions and duties including staffing and recruitment, on-boarding, benefits administration, performance evaluations, provider credentialing, and maintenance of the HRIS/Applicant Tracking System. He/She helps with the implementation of services, policies, and programs and assists HELP/PSI managers with HR matters. The Human Resources Intern/Volunteer will report directly to and provide direct administrative support to the Human Resources Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Record and maintain accurate employee information
- Assist HR Staff with recruiting efforts including recruitment requests, posting vacant positions, screening resumes, scheduling interviews
- Assist the Vice President, Human Resources with special projects
- Assist with maintenance of departmental files including employee, independent contractor, volunteer and intern files
- Assist with Maintenance of professional license database and coordinate renewal notices
- Assist with Creation of benefit packages and maintain inventory of materials
- Manage resume retention process
- Maintain orientation calendar
- Assist with participation in Career Fairs
- Assist with Maintenance of departmental supply inventory
- Assist with Maintenance of postage machine and process all outgoing external mail
- Assist with in internal HR Audits

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age. Demonstrate effective communication skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and skilled in internet research. Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to prioritize workload. Experienced in database management and record keeping. Can maintain confidence when dealing with individuals at all professional levels. Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely and responsive manner, with a high degree of accuracy. Must be able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
