Job Title: Dietetic Intern
Location: Queens (105-04 Sutphin Place, Jamaica, NY 11435)
Stipend: Unpaid Internship
Dates of Positions: Flexible
Time Commitment: 2+ Months
Summary of Position
Dietetic Interns will focus on developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary for future proficiency in dietetics practice. Interns will participate in the development and implementation of nutrition classes, as well as the assessment, education and counseling of individual clients living with HIV/AIDS, and who may be battling substance abuse. Dietetic Interns also assist with research, documentation and basic nutrition department tasks.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Dietetic Internship program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE)
- Good academic standing
- Computer literate, including Word, Excel and Internet Explorer
- Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Self-starter with a strong desire to learn
- Strong written and verbal skills
