PSI is currently working to build a volunteer community. If you have a skill or interest that you think could benefit PSI, please contact the volunteer department today. Your ideas are welcome. Below is a sample of our current volunteer needs. volunteer Opportunities
Tutors: Education Tutors work in the Education Department. Duties include working 1:1 with clients enrolled in Education Services. In collaboration with the teachers, tutors will assist clients with limited math and language arts skills.
Office Assistants & Office Interns: We need your help if you are fluent in Internet exploration, Word and Excel. As we grow, office volunteers will be needed to assist in a variety of tasks.
Outreach Assistants: If you’re outgoing and have an easy time talking with new people, we need you to participate as representatives of PSI at outreach events. You’ll attend fairs and festivals to discuss our mission and the work we’re doing. Or, you can assist us by making calls, sending emails and visiting businesses, organizations and schools that might be interested in getting involved.
Photographers: We have events throughout the year that need your expertise. We need people with their own equipment who will enjoy an event and/or capturing posed pictures.
Journalists, Writers & Editors: Your skills will be of great use in our quarterly newsletter, writing op-ed pieces to submit to newspapers , writing pieces for our website, interviewing clients, staff and other volunteers. Great writers make reading about PSI a pleasure and as more people read and share our stories, more people will know that we are here to help.
Special Event Help: Special Events require assistance for weeks before the event, during the event and afterward. Tell us if you are interested in organizing events or assisting during events. Event help could require you to do many tasks, including but not limited to greeting guests, handing out gift bags, seting up or breaking-down tables and decorations, passing food, serving drinks…
Interpreters: Many of our clients are most comfortable speaking and reading in their native tongue. If you are bilingual, we’d love for you to help us assist more clients by sharing your skills with PSI.
